Members discuss themed political history – for example decisions for war, trade union unrest, women’s rights, education etc. – moving progressively working from the mid 18th Century to the present day. Each week, an agenda is agreed for the following session and individuals play a role in researching the topic for discussion. The Group considered the Victorian period and has now progressed into the beginning of the 20th Century. It is not an intensive academic study, but a general approach to history.
