Wine Tasting
Thursday p.m.
19:00 Usually 4th Thursday but may vary
I’m Anna Moore the current Chair and I’m looking forward to meeting you.
We are one of over 1,000 similar organisations in the UK, part of the “University of the Third Age” worldwide network dedicated to “Life-Long Learning” for retired and semi-retired people. We are run by volunteers and we can only ever offer what our members are prepared to give. But I think you will be pleasantly surprised at just how much that is. Come along to one of our monthly meetings on the second Tuesday of each month to see if we appeal. The venue is Burton Joyce Village Hall and we start at 1.45pm.
The beauty of u3a is that you can be as involved as little or as much you want to be, but like everything in life, the more you put in the more you get out. We currently have over 70 individual interest groups, so there is bound to be something to take your fancy. If not, though, you can always start one yourself. It’s that easy.
I hope this website gives you a flavour of who we are, where we meet, what we do and it encourages you to to give us a try.
Use the Headers at the top of the page to find what you need.
Don’t hesitate to contact us by phone or e mail if you’re not sure
Why not come along to one of our monthly meetings ?
Have a couple of taster sessions to find out if we are what you are looking for.
For more details on joining our u3a please click on the JOIN header at the top of the screen. There you will also find sections which explain in more detail about us, and a list of frequently asked questions.

“As I’ve only just joined BJDu3a as an Associate Member, I’m not able to comment on monthly meetings but or what I can see are the great activities organised for and by members. I would, however, like to comment that the New Members’ Meeting, which I attended recently, was a very well organised, welcoming and…
“I think the 10th Birthday Celebration said every thing about Burton Joyce and District u3a ,friendship, commitment, dedication and how lucky we are in Burton Joyce to have members at all levels willing to work to make it such a success. Thank you BJDu3a ; I feel privileged to be a member.”
“December Christmas Party Meeting: wonderful tear-jerking carols and Christmas songs singing from Burton Joyce Primary School choir!” “The most enjoyable times I have with the u3a are with the Table Tennis Group, as it is good exercise and really, really good fun, I love it!”
“I have enjoyed so many u3a’s activities and made lots of new friends. The trips to the University have been most interesting and the Keukenhof trip was wonderful. The walks are very enjoyable and the Bridge and Canasta groups have been most informative, giving me new social skills The group leaders, and the group co-ordinator,…
